Something for Rockets and French Dancepop

Just found a new awesome band, called Something for Rockets. Dancey rock stylings like the tracks Look Around (my fave off their self-titled album) brings to mind the Two Door Cinema Club. They are my new obsession!

Recently also heard Day n' Nite by Kid Cudi, on the radio. Diggin the Crookers remix!

Also Yelle. Her French dancepop stylings are really catchy, even though I have no idea what she's saying. Ce Jeu and A Cause de Garcons are my faves. Another band mainly in French is TTC, but they do some in English and it's really random! They're dancey-rap type, kinda like the French 3oh!3. Hippie bike riders writing poems from the 50's on beer bottles, canned food, iguanas, and Denny's ham and cheese. Yes, really.

Cobra Starship's new album Hot Mess is out, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet! Shameful, I know. I'll get there soon, though, promise!

Heartsrevolution and The Summer Obsession

Heartsrevolution is my obsession of the moment. I listened to a track by them on the new Kitsune Maison compilation 7 and I loved it. So much, in fact, that I went and listened to CYOA and their Switchblade EP. Wolves and Libertines was good, but Switchblade was awesome. I luuuuuv it.

The whole Kitsune Maison Compilation 7 is great, Miss Mars by 80kidz and Something Good Can Work from the 2 Door Cinema Club being more of my faves. The entire compilation series is how I discovered multitudes of new music.

All Time Low recently released a new album, too, my favorite tracks off of which being Stella and Lost in Stereo. I've listened to the Cobra Starship remix of Lost in Stereo and its great as well.

Got back unto the Summer Obsession, to be honest I haven't listened to them for about a year. Never Coming Back is quite possibly the theme song to my life. I just love it. Dunno how I missed it the first time! Disappear is good, and my faves from before, Burning Bridges and Death Said are still good!

Also Music Sounds Better With You, by Stardust, which was a project of Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter. I'm really diggin that for my late night drawing sessions!

I've been really into the electronic/rock sounds of Hadouken! and Glamour for Better. Both are somewhat similar, and I love em'! I can't get enought of Crank It Up, but Declaration of War's next on my list.My faves by Glamour for Better are Techno Damage, W.T.F.??? and Architechs of Discotech.

Also, Walking on Air by Kerli has some goood remixes out. One I adore is the Lindbergh Palace full mix. I'm also listening to The Klaxons (Atlantis to Interzone) and Barcelona (Studio Hair Gel), as well as Angel on my Shoulder by Kaskade.

French Dancepop = WIN

A Cause Des Garcons by Yelle. It's in French, so I don't know what they're saying, but it's still such an amazing song. Also, my pick for Artist Most Likely To Get Famous:

If there was such a thing as dancerap, or electrorap, this is it. I normally can't stand rap music, but the catchy background stuff and the occasional chorus that's singing rather than rap makes this a great combo. Go check them out!

Kerli's new Album

Estonian pop-princess Kerli came out with a new album recently, and it's totally amazing. The light piano of 'The Creationist' and the heavy-rock numbers like 'I Want Nothing' make this album fun to listen to, and the music video for 'Walking on Air' is simply amazing in a creepily kewl way. All in all, one of my favorite albums of all time. says "One of the most unique and best albums released by a major label."

Yeah, they're probably my fave band of all time..... Who knew they were a Christian band? Not that that's bad, cuz' it's not bad. It's just...... Unexpected..... I went 2 years without knowing this.... You would think someone would say it on the band bios, but no. Ah well, they still rock.

Rock on, dudes and dudettes!
